Assent – already implementing Annex SL

ISO published Annex SL with the objective of “delivering consistent and compatible management system standards in an attempt to make this process easier”, however while some consultancy firms are waiting for it’s appearance in a revised ISO 14001, Assent has had a head start with the adoption of ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity) before that.

Information Security is a core risk area for Assent and we were early to adopt the revised international standard for new and existing clients.

We carefully studied the 10 clause High Level Structure that will form the basis of all future management system standards (MSS), identified the key common requirements and decided on an effective implementation plan.

Some of the features include:

Scope and Discovery Process
Annes SL puts more emphasis on interested parties, that is those who can affect or be affected by the management system.

Through an extended discovery process our consultants will not only meet this requirement, but also gain valuable insight to the client’s organisation.

Risk Management
As a risk management consultancy, its no surprise that we were delighted to see the addition of “Opportunities to Address Risk”.

As part of developing our SL Implementation Process, our best practice consultants reviewed ISO 31000, Risk Management principles and guidance and developed a risk methodology that could be applied to business risk in any management system standard.

Summary
Our consultants have developed techniques and materials to maximise the benefits of management system standards for your organisation.
