Recently Jeff Ayres, from Jeff Ayres and Associates, drew our attention to a scheme that aligns with ISO 39001 the standard for Road Traffic Safety Management.
FORS is operated by TFL (Transport for London) with a focus on safety and emissions in the capital. The scheme is part subsidised and voluntary for any company operating fleets in the Capital.
Companies can achieve one of three certification levels: bronze, silver and gold.
Jeff has been working with operators to attain FORS certification, which has been a requirement in order to access some tenders.
Focusing on some key areas of road traffic safety and the environment, the FORS website has some useful resource including a cycle safety toolkit, an anti-idling Toolkit and access to free driver training for certified companies.
