Investing in Mental Well-being: Our New Mental Health First Aiders

At Assent Risk Management, we believe that a safe workplace goes beyond physical safety—it includes mental well-being too. That’s why we embraced the opportunity for some of our members of staff to complete a Mental Health First Aid course, to help deepen their understanding of mental health and be equipped with tools to support others with their mental health.

Mental Health First Aiders

This month, Jess, Kathy, and Kerri from the Assent Risk Management team, successfully completed a two-day training program with Mental Health First Aid England. The course equipped them with vital knowledge and practical tools to recognise and support colleagues facing mental health challenges, ensuring our workplace remains inclusive, supportive, and resilient.

The training covered essential topics such as spotting the early signs of negative mental health, offering initial assistance, and guiding individuals toward appropriate professional help. With this comprehensive understanding, Jess, Kathy, and Kerri are now certified Mental Health First Aiders, bringing a new level of care and awareness to our team.

Why Mental Health First Aid Matters

Mental health challenges are a reality for many, and workplaces are no exception. By fostering an environment where mental health is prioritised, we not only create a stronger, more empathetic team but also empower our employees to thrive both personally and professionally.

Supporting Our Team

Jess, Kathy, and Kerri’s new roles as Mental Health First Aiders mean our team now has trusted, trained individuals to turn to when facing difficulties. Whether it’s offering a listening ear or connecting colleagues with professional resources, they are here to make a real difference.

We’re incredibly proud of their achievement and grateful for their dedication to creating a safer, healthier workplace for everyone at Assent Risk Management. Their training marks a significant step forward in our journey to prioritise mental well-being as a cornerstone of workplace safety.

Looking Ahead

At Assent Risk Management, we’re committed to continuous improvement and growth. This includes ongoing training and initiatives to support our team’s well-being and ensure our practices reflect the evolving needs of our employees and clients.
